This year, for the first time, we are holding a Gala Dinner, after WAExpo2017, on Saturday 7th October. The Gala Dinner will be held at Mshed, on the historic Bristol harbourside, starting at 7pm with a Himalayan themed welcome drink, followed by a three course dinner, and talk by inspirational young mountaineer Mollie Hughes. Our charity partners for the event are Empowering Women of Nepal and PHASE Worldwide. Raffle tickets will be on sale on the night with some fabulous prizes and all proceeds going to the charities.

Guest Speaker - Mollie Hughes
Mollie Hughes is a mountaineer, adventurer and motivational speaker based in Edinburgh. In 2012 Mollie became one of the youngest British climbers to stand on top of the world when she summited Mount Everest from the South side, at the age of just 21. In 2017 Mollie successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest from the North side. Achieving this feat at the age of 26 made Mollie the youngest woman in the world and the first English woman to successfully summit from both the north and south sides of the world’s highest mountain.

Charity Partners
Profits from the event, and all proceeds from the raffle will go to our charity partners working in Nepal:

Empowering Women of Nepal (EWN) is a local non-profit company, based in Pokhara, which aims to improve the lives of Nepali women and girls through adventure tourism. It was founded by three Nepali sisters, Lucky, Dicky and Nicky Chhetri, who were pioneers in the promotion of female trekking guides in the Himalayas, and was registered in 1999 under Nepal’s Social Organization Act. Read more about EWN here.

PHASE Worldwide - ‘Practical Help Achieving Self-Empowerment’, is a charity working through local partners with communities to provide the skills and services families need to break the cycle of poverty. PHASE works in extremely isolated Himalayan mountain villages in Nepal. These regions have very limited resources, a harsh climate and mountainous terrain – is a real challenge to deliver even basic services here, especially following the devastating earthquakes that shook the country in 2015.
