It absolutely makes our hearts glow when we hear someone describing the Women’s Adventure Expo, completely unsolicited and unprompted. I found this preview from Yvie Johnson, a 2015 WAExpo attendee, Endurance Athlete, Mental Health Advocate and ‘Creative Adventurist’. As someone who states she lives ‘for a life full of creative beans’, we love her heaps for simply understanding what WAExpo is all about!
“My sights are set on the second Women’s Adventure Expo in October. Hearing stories, both practical and inspirational, are part of the growth process at any stage in life.
Not only growth for yourself, but also for what you can pass on, growth of understanding of responsibility towards culture and environment, and inclusion in research and technology.
This is a pot of delightfully rich ideas whether you’re into creativity, technology, athleticism or science.Does it matter that it’s called the Women’s Adventure Expo?
It’s not exclusive, it is open to men who wish to discover what the media leave behind, and it is about turning the tide…men do not completely dominate the world of adventure, and loving adventure should never be about gender. Here you will discover the women who deserve to be promoted, sponsored, filmed for documentaries and those who are leading in their field.
It’s a celebration and an open invite to help keep that mind open.
Will I see you there?”
We hope we do see you there, Yvie. I feel there’s a lot of people who will want to meet you.
