Lowe Alpine build packs to last a lifetime - they become part of every journey you take and every adventure along the way. Lowe Alpine started from humble beginnings back in 1967. At this time the three Lowe brothers, Greg, Mike and Jeff, were travelling throughout the USA developing new routes and pioneering a revolutionary method of climbing that we now call ‘alpine style.’ This fast, lightweight approach to climbing meant small, self-sufficient teams of climbers would travel fast and light, carrying only what they needed with minimal technical equipment. This required a new type of backpack, one that moved with the body and didn’t feel cumbersome. Greg developed the first Expedition Pack in 1967, which revolutionised backpack technology. This was the start of a revolution that has generated innovation after innovation, almost yearly up to the present day. The Lowe Alpine ethos is to create change, put convention aside and think completely afresh. This is an approach that has won them countless awards from both the industry and the press and commendation from mountain professionals throughout the world.
